God’s Amazing Works

I have to share this little story about how God works in ways we cannot imagine. This story is not for my glory but the intent of this story is to give God all the glory. We have a truly amazing God that sees far beyond our little narrow eyes.

Just recently a teacher and I were talking about faith and religion and she (a Non-Christian) was telling me that her son was planning on going on a year long mission trip that was going to cost him about $3,500. She said that he has spent many hours trying to get volunteers to donate money for this mission trip. She was struggling with him doing this because she does not believe that this is something that he should be doing. Her words were this “We never raised him to believe anything outside of the Catholic faith and since he has been going to this new church he really has changed (she hasn’t figured out yet that he has been washed in the blood of the lamb). She does not agree with these new changes because they go against her traditional Catholic faith. With that being said I spent some time talking to her about what being a Christian truly is, she seemed some what interested but not ready to totally believe what I was saying as the truth. So as I left her room I told her that I would be praying for her son and that Gods will be done with this mission trip that her son has being so faithfully praying for. So over the course of the past week I have asked God to show me how I could help this young man spread the gospel and to eventually lead his parents to know the living God. Well the other night Misty and I were taking a nice quiet stroll through our neighborhood and as we were walking along we began talking about missions and our need to give above beyond our normal tithing. Misty said that she had been praying about this for a little while now, so I asked how much was she thinking we should give and she said $500. So I told her about this conversation I had with this teacher and about this teachers son wanting to go on this mission trip (this was the first time I had said anything to her about my week long pray). As we continued to talk abou it Misty said “Lets give the money to him”. So I went to school the next day and told the teacher that after a weeks worth of pray and my wife having a burden to give money to a mission with out even knowing that this was my prayer, I pulled out a check and said that I wanted to give her son $500 to support this mission.  She replied, “That she thought her son had already raised the money necessary to go on this trip”.  So I told her to call him and to make sure that he had enough money.  So the following day I asked her if she had talk to him and she said “no but when I do I will have him call you”.  Well last night her son called me and as we were talking he seemed overly joyed to the point of tears flowing down his face.  After talking to him I now know why.  He had less than one week to come up with the rest of the money to go on this mission trip and as of Friday he was $500 short of his goal and had been so upset that he almost lost hope of being able to go on this trip. In fact he said that he spent almost all day on Sunday in prayer that the $500 needed to go on this trip would be there by Tuesday.  So when his mother called to tell him the news that he would be recieving $500 by a teacher he fell to the floor crying tears of joy that the Lord stood good on His promise to him.  To see God answer this young mans prayer not only to the exact amount of money needed is super but to see his mom begin to open heart to the true gospel is even more compelling.  As of yesterday his mother and I spoke about this and she began crying because she could not believe how faithful the Father of all creation could be to a simple young man who had faith of child.  She hasn’t excepted Christ yet but she sure has began to think of His glory most high.  My simple prayer of the past few weeks has been for God to give me the courage and desire to share the gospel with a lost soul and I believe that He totally went above and beyond, so for this I give Him the GLORY and HONOR!!!
